IRaaS Project Launch
Tuesday 26th October 2021 saw the official launch of the Centre’s new IRaaS project.
In July 2021, the Intelligent Automation Centre announced the award of £1.4 million worth of EPSRC funding for a three year project called Industrial Robots-as-a-Service (IRaaS) – Resilient and responsive manufacturing systems enabled by rapidly deployable mobile robots, which is aimed at boosting the uptake of robots in small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses and will research ways to more easily change, adapt and repurpose automated systems.
This project was offically launched yesterday at Burleigh Court Conference Centre, located on Loughborough University’s campus and was attended by a multidisciplinary team from Loughborough University, together with representatives from the 17 external partner organisations involved in this project.
An excellent day was had by all and we look forward to providing regular up-dates on the progress of this exciting new project.
