Matthew is a Lecturer in Unmanned Vehicles at Loughborough University. He has considerable experience in developing and operating autonomous platforms, including system and control design, sensor integration and testing. He has research experience in a number of areas related to autonomous vehicles, some of which include UAS forced landing, situational awareness, autonomous taxiing, mission planning optimisation for agricultural aerial surveying and crop spraying, as well as sensor fusion and tracking for Counter-UAS.
Matthew has recently been awarded funding for projects from DASA and innovateUK on Counter UAS and Drone inspection, totalling more than £250K and has overseen all practical lab activities for the Loughborough University Centre for Autonomous Systems (LUCAS) since 2014.
